Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026. This summary explains our privacy practices in plain language and does not replace binding agreements your school may sign with us.

Breya Academy, Inc. (“Breya,” “we,” “us”) operates an education platform for teachers and students. This policy describes how we handle personal information when you use our websites and services.

Information we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, role (e.g. teacher or student), and authentication identifiers from our sign-in provider.
  • Classroom data: sections you create, enrolments, assignments, submissions, and progress signals needed to run lessons and grading features.
  • Technical data: device type, browser, approximate region from IP, and diagnostic logs used to secure and improve the service.
  • Billing data: when you purchase a paid plan, payment details are processed by our payment partner (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers on Breya servers.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the platform.
  • Authenticate users and enforce teacher vs. student permissions.
  • Communicate about the service, support requests, and important notices.
  • Analyse usage in aggregate to improve curriculum UX and reliability.
  • Comply with law and respond to lawful requests.

Sharing

We use subprocessors (for example: hosting, database, authentication, email, and payments) under contracts that require appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information. We do not use student activity to serve behavioural advertising.

Schools and minors

Where teachers invite students, we treat classroom records as directed by the educational institution and aim to support schools’ obligations regarding student data. Parents or guardians with questions should contact their school or reach us at the email provided on our Contact page.

Retention & security

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and industry-standard access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is perfectly secure.

Your choices

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights; we may verify requests and honour exemptions permitted by law (for example, records a school must retain).
